A- wrong again – other people have feelings as well as myself – I treat her like a child. Our make up of Sunday has not lasted long. Just before we went out, on her regretting she had not her cloak and [me] asking if she would take Josephine’s old cloak, A- answered me so impatiently that I shut up, as usual on these occasions – and hardly spoke while out. And on my saying after dinner that I really could not bear these uncivil impatient answers all I got was… vide [see] the first line and half the second of the crypt today, so we both came in silence to our rooms.
Poor A- wrong as ever. How miserable she makes herself and me too.
