No kiss – tried to fondle her last night but she said she was sickish so gave over and went to sleep.
A- very low – she is always terribly so when I am obliged to leave her.
No kiss – A- rather better tho’ does not own it.
No kiss – A- having taken two calomel pills and some opening mixture last night, Dr B[elcombe]’s prescription last month, was roused soon after five and again afterwards before getting up. She says her head is already rather relieved.
No kiss – A- less low on awaking than for this month back.
Felt that I could better leave A-. Very low but perhaps better – does not like me to leave her.
Found my cousin gently come after my return from the funeral. I think A- rather better on the whole but her mind or spirits are subject to sad lowness, tho’ she had rather more lengthened gleams of cheerfulness today.
Had to prepare for cousin which made [me] late then.
Washing three stockings till eleven and a half.
She is terribly low. I really know not what I shall do with her – if she is not better by and by, I really cannot go on.
She gets rather worse, I feel, in spirits.
